Variations: Shortcut to SR 117 on CR 613 at turnoff for DeSoto Falls.
Notes: This route can be run in either direction. Starting clockwise from Ft. Payne gives the rider an 11-mile flat warm-up before ascending Lookout Mountain on SR 117.
Directions to Start: Little River Cycling and Fitness, 115 1st St. E. From Highway 35 and I-59, follow 35 to light where 11 splits off. Follow 11 North as it becomes the main street in Ft. Payne. Right on First Street, just past City Hall.
Alternate Start: DeSoto State Park
Notable Attractions: Alabama Fan Club and Museum. DeSoto State Park. Little River Canyon National Preserve. Sequoia Caverns. Dekalb Theatre.
